Iran short film ‘Pale Mirrors’ wins award at Middle East Now

Iranian film ‘Pale Mirrors’ has won award at Middle East Now film festival, Italy.

Iranian director Salem Salavati’s ‘Pale Mirrors’ has won award at Middle East Now film festival in Italy.

The short film won the Best OFF award by the directors and critics of OFF Cinema board at the Italian event in Florence.  

Produced by Sanandaj branch of Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS), Salavati’s short is about a woman’s last chance to become a mother.

'Pale Mirrors' have so far participated at several international events and received a number of awards from different film festivals, including Slemani International Film Festival in Iraq and Beirut International Film Festival (BIFF) in Lebanon.

Another Iranian film ‘White House’ by Arastou Mafakheri was also screened at the festival.

Map of Creation is a non-profit cultural association based in Florence which is active in producing documentary films and hosting cultural events, the official website of the festival wrote.  

They work on documentaries and cinema that focuses on the key themes of the contemporary world, as a powerful instrument to approach reality and cultural integration.

The festival was held on April 4-9, 2017 in Florence, Italy.
